Long Term Ifor Williams Car Trailer Hire

These Terms & Conditions apply to all long-term trailer hires from GT Towing. By hiring a trailer, the hirer agrees to comply with these conditions in full.

1. Hirer Eligibility
   • Must be at least 21 years old.
   • Must hold a full UK driving licence valid for towing the trailer.
   • Must provide valid documentation: driving licence, 2 x utility bills, proof of address, payslip, and certificate of insurance.
   • Hirer is subject to approval by GT Towing.
2. Trailer Condition & Use
   • Trailer supplied for hire will be new, never previously sold or hired.
   • The hirer confirms the trailer and all accessories are in good condition and fit for purpose.
   • Trailers and accessories must be returned in the same condition, subject to fair wear and tear.
   • Non-returned items or accessories will be charged at the manufacturer’s current list price.
   • Trailers must not be sub-let, lent, sold, or otherwise transferred.
   • Trailers must not be used for illegal activities.
   • Use is limited to England & Wales unless prior written consent is given.
   • Hirer is responsible for ensuring compatibility with the towing vehicle and compliance with all towing laws.
3. Hire Period & Fees
   • Minimum hire period: 12 months.
   • Three months upfront payment is required, covering the first month and last two months of hire.
   • Monthly payments are due on the same day as trailer collection each month.
   • Two months’ notice is required to end the hire.
   • If cancelled within the minimum 12-month period, payment for the remaining period is due in full.
   • Maximum mileage: 6,000 miles per year. Additional servicing at the hirer’s expense is required if exceeding this limit.
4. Insurance & Security
   • Trailer insurance is required and can be arranged via The Insurance Emporium.
   • Most trailer insurers require insurance-approved security devices, available from GT Towing at a 10% discounted rate.
5. Maintenance & Servicing
   • Annual servicing is included in the hire fee.
   • The hirer must inform GT Towing immediately of any faults or required repairs.
   • No third-party repairs or modifications are permitted without prior written consent.
   • Any repairs, servicing or maintenance must be undertaken by GT Towing in our workshops.
   • It is the hirer’s responsibility to transport / recover the trailer back to GT Towing for works, at the hirer’s cost.
   • GT Towing do not deliver, do not collect and do not transport trailers.
   • GT Towing do not offer any mobile servicing and repairs.
6. Collection & Return
   • Trailer must be collected and returned to GT Towing’s registered address (Hatfield, AL9 5SD).
   • Trailers must be returned clean and free from muck, bedding, or debris.
   • A cleaning charge may apply if returned in poor condition.
7. Breakdowns & Accidents
   • In case of breakdown or accident, the hirer must contact GT Towing immediately.
   • An accident report and police reference may be required.
   • The hirer may be liable for costs arising from negligence or misuse.
   • Recovery back to GT Towing is the responsibility of the hirer.
8. Colour & Availability
   • GT Towing will make every effort to supply the requested trailer colour, subject to stock and availability.
   • A manual winch is available upon request, at an additional charge.
   • 1 set (qty4) of Car Transport Straps are included at no additional cost. Maintenance and replacements for duration of hire are the responsibility of the hirer. 
9. Termination of Hire
   • GT Towing may terminate the hire if the hirer breaches any of these terms.
   • Early termination by the hirer may result in payment of remaining hire charges.
10. Liability
    • The trailer remains the property of GT Towing at all times.
    • The hirer is responsible for fines, tolls, or legal infringements incurred during the hire period.
11. Data & Tracking (if applicable)
    • Some trailers may be fitted with GPS tracking devices for security; the hirer will be informed if such devices are installed.

These Terms & Conditions are designed to be comprehensive and protect both GT Towing and the hirer. By proceeding with the hire, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these conditions.
