Unbraked Trailer Secondary Coupling Breakaway Cable - MP4987B.
This tends to be fixed under one of the bolts that hold your unbraked coupling to the drawbar or a-frame of your trailer. Unlike a braked trailer, this is NOT designed to snap if the trailer fails and comes off of the vehicle, this is designed to keep the trailer attached to your vehicle, thus preventing it from weaving across the road and causing a collision, damage or injury.
This is a legal requirement on all unbraked trailers. This must NOT be fitted to a braked trailer.
The Secondary Coupling cable length is 500mm and is 6mm thich. One end has a ring, to allow for the fitting through a bolt on to the trailer. The other is a carbine snap hook, to attach to your vehicles towbar.
