I needed a towbar for my Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo Estate, ideally a removable swan neck version. The VW dealer quoted me £960, but the option wasn’t removable. I tried a few other companies, but the quotes were similar and still didn’t meet my needs.
After a bit of Googling, I came across GT Towing. Their website was excellent — full of photos showing different vehicles with towbars fitted, which gave me confidence. I was able to submit my car details and, in return, they recommended a removable swan neck towbar with the appropriate electrics. The quote I received was detailed, clear, and significantly lower than the VW dealer’s.

They also had a Thule bike rack in stock, which I decided to purchase as part of the package. A fitting date was arranged, and when I arrived, I was greeted by Tom, who explained that the job would take about 2.5 hours.
While I waited, I had the option of a comfortable waiting room with complimentary tea and coffee. As it was a warm day, we sat outside instead. Their on-site shop was impressive too — fully stocked with trailer spares and accessories.
Once the work was done, Tom brought the car out and gave me a full demonstration of the towbar, including how to fit and remove it and how to operate the hinged-down electric socket. The installation was excellent — you could barely tell the towbar was there, even under the sporty rear bumper.
Tom even provided a kneeling mat for the demonstration, making it easy to see and learn how it worked. Another staff member then walked me through the use of the Thule bike rack, showing how to install and remove it safely. I was encouraged to try it myself to make sure I was fully comfortable with everything before leaving.
As a nice final touch, I was given a GT Towing-branded kneeling mat, a storage bag for the towbar, and even a free number plate for the bike rack — all part of the bundle and topped off with a £50 discount.
Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with the professional, friendly, and efficient service from GT Towing. I wouldn’t hesitate to give them a 100% recommendation — and I’m confident you won’t be disappointed either.
